Humility learned

Hoisted from comments:

> Ok turkey, what’s your call on the Dow at the end of July?

> Gold? Oil?

  • GMB Says:
I cannot possibly make a call on that.
  • So after a disastrous bout of peak oil bedwetting (called $200 / barrel at $145, only to see it drop to $40), it seems a certain commenter has thrown in the towel as economic forecaster. The lesson? Bets focus minds.

Thats not what happened. You are lying. You are pretending that I said that the price was going directly upward from 145. Rather I thought that prices would stabilise lower than that for a couple of years before moving up. I’ve got a thread to that effect. Since the inventories at last began to build.

Then Bernanke and Paulson moved in and changed everything with their bank guarantees. Everyone had to sell up to meet their shorts.

      Not true.

    3. JohnZ Says:

Wrong, turkey, you called $200 and now you’re lying about it.

You made a bad call, accept that. It’s lucky you weren’t man enough to back it with cash.

      Bird:

How about my Feb 28 2014 contract for daily oil production?

    5. Mark Hill Says:

      Bird,

Also hope that I am wrong, for the right reasons – that we shift to more nuclear etc. But hopefully we also porduce more of every fuel.

    6. DH Says:

Bird wrong? About just about everything? How can that be?

    7. Mark Hill Says:

Humility learned – apparently not: [from a comment that I wanted to post but Graeme has banned me]

“”Every damn thing is wrong about our defense. Our defense position is in the process of falling away from its unassailable height in 2003. All our submariners want to go home or head down a mine. The situation has to be rescued with extreme prejudice and the last person anyone wants to consult is a neoclassical quissling.”

So what Graeme, you’re going to gang press miners into the Navy?

“You know I never quite liked David Lleyonhelm’s idea of dudes carrying weapons. On the intellectual side of things I could appreciate his arguments and I’d tend to defer to them. But it made me uneasy at least with the younger blokes carrying. The 35+ age group I was less worried about.”

So what Graeme, when I have the lifestyle I want, married, children, house, etc, you’re saying I can’t defend myself or family for another couple of years because I am not senile like you?

Keep on drinking the cough syrup, this is a barrel of laughs.”

    8. Ron Pauline Hanson Says:

Dear god. The idea of Bird armed and wandering the streets – it doesn’t bear thinking about.

    9. Winchester Quartermain Says:

Perhaps there are some amongst you foulmouthed hedonistic generation who are still capable of redeeming yourselves and joining hand in hand with Mr Bird to take back our country, in which case I urge you to read this

      Dear Mr Bird
When I grow up I want to be as smart as you. How do I do that?

      regards
      Timmy O’Toole

    11. Ron Pauline Hanson Says:

Timmy, try sticking your head in a bucket of cement for three years or so. That would make a good start.

    12. Ron Pauline Hanson Says:

      What’s your game, fella?

    13. Ron Pauline Hanson Says:

That Ron Pauline Hanson is an imposter! I am the one true Ron Pauline Hanson!

    14. graemebird Says:

Timmy forget about it. I’m tracking you and two of the Ron Pauls here and out of the four of you only but one of you is about to wake up more than thrice.

    15. graemebird Says:

You are such a dishonest leftist cunt mark

Every cunt knows that you are a quissling. You cannot hide that now.

Richard sussed you out pretty quick

    16. graemebird Says:

Lets go over it again just in case you silly cunts didn’t get it the first time:

“Thats not what happened. You are lying. You are pretending that I said that the price was going directly upward from 145. There is no need to bullshit upon this. This is what happended.

      You are my hero.

      Love

As a non-native who rants about Obama conspiracy theories and cares more about America (adopted nationalism) than he does Australia or even his native NZ – shut your gob Graeme. You have no credibility or qualifications to judge someone’s loyalty.

Nationalism isn’/t part of libertarianism (patriotism is though). You are confused Graeme. You are not a libertarian.

Now I don’t know why this time you are calling me dishonest. It is just unrelenting frothing at the mouth at this point in time.

Richard Glover of course is a pseudonym mocking you ala Winchester Quartermain. You remember who Richard Glover is on our ABC don’t you Graeme?

    20. DH Says:

Oh dear god. He’s banging on about the birth certificate now. He’s a complete loser cunt who lies about everything.

    21. graemebird Says:

Well its a fact. Barry Soetoro is a Usurper who has put his birth certificate under wraps.

He was born in the Coast Providence Hotel in Mombassa Kenya. At a time when his Mother was too young to transfer citizenship to him. Therefore he is a Usurper.

    22. graemebird Says:

Tripodi wanting to sell strategic resources to the communists is by no means a small problem. The idea is to clearly reform the market to overcapitalise it so that the goods are no longer “strategic”. But Tripodi prefers the dual treason of failing to reform the market but instead sell it off to the communists while still in its state of dysfunction.

This is a disgrace. And the IPS and CIS supporting it is an even bigger disgrace. I laid some of these home truthz on Alan Moran over at Unleashed.

    23. Little Timmy Says:

      Dear Mr Bird

Speaking from your experience, would you recommend a homosexual lifestyle to a young man? It is better being a top or bottom?

      Love and kisses

    29. jc Says:

Yo, spiv. You still hanging around in Tokyo?

yea, humility is a good thing and Bird should also learn how to apologize.

    30. jimmythespiv Says:

      jc

Yeah, still here. It be bleak, economy tanking, but largely due to collapse of exports. Domestic economy will endure……..it’s been the same for 20 years, and people still gotta eat.

    31. jimmythespiv Says:

      …..and the’ve got savings to burn….

    32. jc Says:

      spiv

Last time (the 90’s) the world’s economy got them out of the soup in the sense that their exports were able to hold as China was growing and the US was motoring along. This time around their export markets have basically halved. I can’t see them getting out of it so easily, which is why i think the Yen you weaken quite a bit. They just can’t swing to domestic consumption in time to change things around. I think it’s over for them.

    33. jimmythespiv Says:

its the same economy for 25 + years…..yen is only hing people want… could be over but where else put cash ?
